Motivation:
I grew up in a low-income home and was often homeless, until being taken into the foster care system at 14 years old, where I remained until aging out. I have always had a huge interest in how the many pitfalls of inequality in public health, income, and education led my family, and many like mine, to remain in a cycle of poverty traps.
After noticing these patterns and wanting to learn more, I reached out to an advisor in college and wanted to learn more while also scratching my analytical itch. This led me to the world of economic theory and taught me how to formulate my questions into researchable hypotheses that could lead me to actionable insights.
I knew that economics was just the beginning and that I wanted to continue into the data-driven world.
